This sensitive renovation of a 1950’s office building in downtown Austin includes construction of a new core element that incorporates a new exit stair, restrooms, and elevator. A top floor with all glass perimeter walls was added within the height limitation of the Capitol View Corridor. The narrow existing horizontal windows were enlarged, and new punched windows were added to capture the dramatic views of the state capitol.
